Default 2005 CRV problem

G'day all members,

I am experiencing a vibration on the steering wheel when running on 50kph and also when cruise control is engaged. Could somebody help me.

TIA

Ruel

Thread Moved To Correct Location. As for the vibration problem check the air in your tires. If they are way uneven then it could cause it to vibrate pretty bad. Also if that doesn't work then try getting it aligned. It should be fixed after an alignment.

If it stops shaking as bad at higher speeds its possible that a wheel bearing is out or something is loose. The slower speeds you will feel more than high end due to the weight of the tire spinning will stop the shake if that makes any sense.

Could also be an unbalanced wheel. Check the pressures first, you might have a slow leak.

I'll try your suggestion to have it wheel align before I set an appointment with Honda.
Update will come once I have done with it.

Thanks a lot.

Shaking is noticeable when I am running on 70kph and cruise control is engaged then once I cancel the cruise control shaking will come out. There was an instance that I am running on 50kph and suddenly would feel the vibration.

And shaking is also present when I am in full turning.

Try to grab one of the top of tire while it is sitting on the ground and push and pull on it. If it feels like it is shaking it is a wheel bearing. If they are all good on all 4 corners I would check all of the ball joints. If nothing then try to check the balance on the wheels. I am pretty sure that you will find something and I hope this helps.

Last night I thought to tell ya pressures, alignment, and also I remembered but these guys covered it balance. Along with the alignment get your tires rotated and balanced. If that doesn't help then its something more severe.

thanks guys, actually beforehand I have the wheel rotate and even swap the tires but the problem still exist. My decision is to bring the car to Honda and have them check. Do Honda has skills when it comes to underchassis problem? or I just send it to underchassis specialist.

I don't see why the dealership wouldn't be able to pin point the problem and fix it..
