We have noticed on our 2008 Odtssey that when you let off the accelerator, the van seems to brake itself even on level ground. Also the transmission shifts hard at upshift and downshift - just not as smooth as we hoped a Honda van would be. Had it checked twice at dealers and they say everything is normal. Have others noticed the same thing ? Guess I would feel better if I knew this was just the way the vehicle is. Thanks ! John from Tennessee.

Is this the V6 model? I wonder if it's not the cylinder deactivation coming on and off.

Yeah, the system is still pretty new and they haven't worked out all the bugs yet. Kind of like hte first-generation hybrids. They were very clunky and jerky. Now they are much smoother and almost seamless.
