I've always been a turbo girl. Because superchargers run off of your pulley, they tend to give you immediate power and don't take long to spool. But superchargers [that I've heard and seen] work better on cars with more torque. IE: Domestics. I don't know.. I guess I'm biased because I own a turboed car.

A small, low-boost turbo will be everything you could ever want for forced induction. Very cheap to build and can be done in the junkyard if you have the patience and know-how. Like I said, more people know how to turbo in the import world, so the choice is yours. I prefer turbos mostly because that's what the Indy Cars used to use (and they might be using them again soon, FRIGGIN SWEET!!!), and the sound they make is killer.

I love turboes. I don't think theres anything out there that sounds better than listening to a turbo spool up around 3-4k rpm. Superchargers yes give you power threw out your power band. But I love to be forced back into my seat soon as the turbo starts to spool full boost. Supercharged vehicles have been known to get worse gas millage than a turboed vehicle because of the extra pully its like running your A/C all the time. In my DSM my tank average is about 25 mpg(Averaged out between when I beat on it and baby it). But when I don't let the turbo spool alot of boost I get about 30 mpg, and this is in the City I rarely drive highway.

Lucky. My Sil-Eighty gets 16 mpg average. Ugh!!! At least I saw 93 octane for $3.63.

The one thing turbos do have over superchargers is that they are slightly more efficient. Stay out of the boost and your fuel mileage will increase a tiny bit. Superchargers don't have that trait.

Superchargers have two types of mpg, bad and really bad.

When I had my 2000 regal gse, it was supercharged. I'd get 24mpg on a tank if I stayed out of it. If I was in it, it was worse......waaaay worse.

Actually, other s2000 owners are saying that the mileage doesnt change with the addition of a supercharger as long as you dont stop on the gas. If you have the petal to the floor all the time, you will get substantially lower mileage.

Do we have a honda tech here who can answer this question:

Transmission tsb Performed on 2006 s2k for 3-4th gear shift problem. Transmission was taken apart, gears replaced. Problem fixed, but shifting feels a little less precise in all gears -- sometimes I find myself missing them because its more "loose". Can I get the shop to fix this problem? What is my lattitude for getting a new transmission on their dime?

If I put in a supercharger, I can forget about the warranty. Many s2k owners have had no problem with adding a SC. If I do, what are the chances I will be at increased risk of failure? 30%?

If the SC is done right then I'd say about 10%. As for stompin on the gas, well duh, that's normal on any car. You gun it and your fuel mileage turns to crap. As for the tranny, it sounds like the reason it is looser is the new gears. What was the problem the tsb warranted, aka why did they need to change the gears in the trans? That may help explain it.

TURBO IS THE WAY TO GO. AIRCRAFT TURBO PROPS DONT USE SUPERCHARGERS, FOR A REASON.

TRANNY ISSUE? IT WAS LIKELY NOT BLUE PRINTED FOR TOLERANCES AND PRESSURE POINTS. RIDE IT OUT.

IF YOU WANT BOOST, APPLY IT. GET YOURSELF A DECENT HANDLING AND BRAKE PACKAGE AND ALLWAYS PROTECT YOUR BOTTOM END. BECOME MINIMALIST WITH BOOST APPLICATIONS.
