The Search Button

People I'm tired of seeing the same topics and questions show up over and over (and I know I'm not the only one).. There is a search button towards the top of your screen. Please use it before making new threads. I don't see why we should have to answer questions or create threads on existing topics. If you can't find it using the search button (assuming you used correct grammar and or spelling) then you can post a new thread asking you questions or concerns. If you have any questions on this please feel free to ask.

While we're asking things of our member, my I add in using real English? If you know it, use it (for our foreign members, it's ok, thank you for trying. You're giving your 100%, so I will give mine). Because damn even a 3 year old makes more sense then you, because you're too lazy to use 3 more keys. Not perfect grammer, but at least full words and sentences. And periods. God almighty please use some periods! To illustrate my point, read this: VG Cats - Comics - Updated Monday.

I actually like that Idea

If your new the search button is your best friends. By now the forum has been around a while and questions like which exhaust or intake have been answered many many times...

I'm not sure how many other forums you browse, but in the 240SX forum I visit, flaming, aka hijacking threads, posting random crap, or asking questions that have already been answered, is grounds for bannishment. We don't follow that rule here. To be honest, a little effort to find your answer saves everyone a lot of time. If we are going to be putting effort into solving your problem, the least you can do is the same. The whole grammer thing is a pet peeve of mine. My claim is if you can't be understood, then you won't get an answer. It's not a rule, it just makes sense. Run-on, meandering sentences in text speak are just baby drivel to me.

I understand it may be "annoying" or whatever to have to repeat yourself. You guys need to relax. Some people dont live on a computer, Meaning: people may not know that there is a button for everything you want to do on a site. All your doing is making members feel uncomfortable. Remember, No Question is a Stupid Question. If your so annoyed when someone repeats a thread, remind them of the search botton or ignore the topic. And if you would ban a person for asking a question, why are you a moderater of this site. I dont mean no disrespect, but dont try to make me feel like s*** just because Im not a computer genius

Pointing out the search button or making this article about it is in no way intended to make anyone feel like ****. It's intended to save everyone, including the person asking the question, time. People that don't know where the search button is are generally new, which is why i suggested putting "Use the Search Button first" at the top of all the forums. I think this is more so directed at people who have been here for longer then a few weeks. who should really know how to use the search.

I think 93HondaSi is putting it best. But I don't think we need to tell people to search. Sometimes an answer is out of date or just plain wrong. And you don't have to be a computer genius to work your way around a forum. Just a little bit of reading, that's all. A lot of times, I don't know an answer off the top of my head (and I think that goes for a lot of people here), so answering it once is plenty. If I had to answer the same question 3 or 4 times, I have to look up the answer 3 or 4 times. On the other side, the person asking the question may have to wait a number of hours for their answer by posting a new thread, as opposed to getting an immeidate solution by looking around a little bit.

I repeat, flaming is NOT grounds for bannishment on Hondaclub.com. And for the forseeable future, it will remain that way.

Well I'm on a few other forums and if you ask a question or bring up a topic that has been talked about before they will not respond to you.. I'm by no means trying to be mean to any one I'm just bored with answering the same stuff specially about Intake, Exhaust, and Headers.. I know you may feel targeted because your the last person to bring something up thats already been talked about but, it was just a reminder for me. I wanted to say something about this a long time ago but I thought that I was the only person that was getting annoyed with it. But I found out that I'm not the only one so I decided to write this.. It is not targeted towards you or ment to be offensive to you so just relax man your blowing it way out of proportion.
