The tires on the back are near the end of their tred, but the front ones are not nearly as worn, car has about 9500 miles, never launched.
If just the back tires are replaced would that cause a loss in stability? What tires would provide better grip that the stock ones, and have similar / longer durability?

they need to be the same tires, same size and all or you'll get vibrations and a pull.
Also, I believe you drive an S2000 (still a little unsure, you should make a garage) They come stock with Brigstone Potenza S03's which are very very good, but very expensive tires. You wont find any better without waiting an eternity to shop from Japan. |

so I would need two of these
and two of these I really hope I'm wrong, because $1000 every 18 months seems like a lot for tires. and do they need to be rotated, since the ones in back are wider, all they could do is switch sides? Last edited by TJ213; 10-08-2006 at 01:56 AM. |

No! Do not rotate them!
The only time the 7.5 inch tire needs to be on the front is if you have a rear blow out. More the 6.5 inch front tire to the rear and put the spare on the front. As far as all 4, if your not to the indecation nubs then your good. Be sure to check inside and out side wear patterns carefully. Many of the S guys change 2 at a time. I'm still on 05 SO3 fronts and new rears and it's working out just fine. |

so it only needs new rear tires, thats a lot better.
am I right in guessing I might be able to get about 10k on the rears and about 20k on the fronts? Last edited by TJ213; 10-09-2006 at 03:02 AM. |

Well, I must drive like a grandma because the car just hit 9900 today and has the origional tires, plus since it is actually my dad's car (the horrible truth, although I drive it more than he does) when he drives the car it spends most of its miles on the freeway.
![]() I'm starting to get a little bit of squeling from the rears driving around curves in the mountain, but it still grips well, I'm just worried that I'll find out about treadware by snap oversteer. Last edited by TJ213; 10-09-2006 at 03:02 AM. |
