Cool swap a k20a2 for a k24 from a tsx or accord?

so my engine blew the other day. ive looked up the possiblities of swapping my rsx type s engine for a k24. I'd like to know all the positives and negatives about swapping engines and which k24 either from a accord or a tsx id be better off with? Also what changes need to be done from wither swap? ANYONE??

TSX is the way to go. It actually takes most of the same connections as well.

Which engine depends on what your plans are. If you do a K20/K24 hybrid, then it really doesn't matter which engine you pick, since you will be swapping the head anyway (if you're lucky, your head is salvageable, so you already have half the swap done). The TSX engine makes it easier, because it already has the proper engine management. If you get the accesorires that come with the engine, most everything should bolt up. You might need new engine mounts, and a specialized header (to clear the rest of the engine bay). It would be wise to ask HASport exactly what you need to move the engine.

Here's how to build the engine: Short Block with K20A2 VTEC Cylinder Head - Tech - Sport Compact Car Magazine

that will be one nasty street machine . tsx block with k20a2 head.they both have v tec cam. the k24a1,3,4, all rated 160 hp and 160 tq hey have economic cam .the negative i think is smog, and labor. the postive you will have bigger displacement.with a s/c you be doing around 300 hp and around 230-250 tq.

Dude you do NOT want that engine. An engine with a hole in the block is a coffee table.

And 3TN, the K20 engine was not available in 1997. It started in 2002 with the RSX Type-S.

no, a tsx engine. kseries. with a 97 type r head. jdm. both. then i would go as far as s2000 pistons. this hybrid would be good for 280-300hp. maybe off by ten to twenty hp.

How does a pre K-Series head fit onto a K-Series engine? Besides the K head flows much better than any other Honda head (excepting the NSX and S2K heads).
