Default steering wheel

alright, i'm almost done with the badging on my car. Now i just need to swap out the "A" wheel with the "H" one. I was looking at the JDM Type R wheel, but i can't find a new one and all the used ones look like crap and the people that have them are trying to sell them for anywhere between 450 to 1000 bucks!!!

My question, I know that the EP3 (2002-2004 civic si) has the same steering wheel look. Would that work in my DC5? or are the airbag wireing harnesses different? if they are the same i can pick up an EP3 Si wheel pretty cheap!

Ask your local mechanic or dealer, they can pull up all the wiring diagrams. My guess is yes, since they both use the same frame, so the wiring should be mostly the same. You may have to do a little splicing here and there, but if it bolts up, then a little wiring should be no big deal. Just take the plug from your Civic and fit the wires from the RSX into it. Just make sure you know what each wire does and where it goes.

i've talk to the dealership once about it and they told me they can't do anything about it. Really all i need is the SRS from the EP3 to go in to my RSX-S. Thats what i was asking them about and he told me that due to state law he couldn't even discuss it because the SRS units are sold by VIN number and to put a CIVIC srs on an RSX would violate safety laws and he could be held responsible, I dunno what that crap is all about. but to complete the look i need to drop that Acura "A" off my wheel

Actually all you need to see is the plug to make sure it's the same in the 2 cars. If it is then it will plug right in.

Splicing SRS wiring is not recomended airbags can deploy with a static charge thats why all the wiring covered in yellow looming so you know its SRS. just a heads up. they save lives but can really mess up your face

I'm not saying to splice any wiring. The wiring for the Civic and RSX should be the same since they run mostly the same engine and have mostly the same wiring to begin with. If the plugs are the same, then so are all the connections and all the wires. It should work fine, just like from the factory.

To put an end to the initial question, the EP3 probably will not work becuase your RSX is too new. They updated the RSX a bit in 2005 to go with the new Civic (probably to streamline production and cut some cost in parts for the two), so I think it is closer to the newest Civic Si. Stick it out and try to find a JDM RSX wheel. It'll make life a lot easier.

I was looking for the JDM wheel but all that i've found so far are used and beat up. Now the only reason i was looking at maybe the 04 EP3 was becasue the wheels are the same, i was again courious to see if the wiring would match.
I would never think about splicing airbag wires, thats just CRAZY talk!
