Default Body Work Required

So yesterday on my way home on the 401 the car in front of me hits this piece of tractor trailer tire which then flies up in the air and lands in my grill.

Yeah, Im Ok, thanks for asking.

So anyways, I check to see if alignment is Ok and proceed home thinking nothing is really buggered. Boy, was I worng!

I check out my front end damage and it looks brutal.

So why are trucks allowed to install those re-tread tires anyways? I see them all over the highways all the time. I think they're very dangerous and I dont give a rats backside that they're cheaper.

Rant over.

Now I just need it fixed. Is there anyone who owns a body shop or works at one on this board ??

You're lucky, front-end damage is usually really easy to fix. Most of the stuff just comes off with some bolts and screws. If you scour the local junkyards you can find the parts you need. Rear-end damage (like my old Integra) is really bad because the quarter panels are welded on. Pics would be helpful as well as the year of the car.

And you're right, that monkey is damn cool.

Cool, at least you guys have a sense of humour.

The car is a 2004 Civic SI. Blue in colour and pics might take till tomorrow depending on my PC skill level. Which is weak at the best of times.

It might be time for an upgrade of the front end if you know what I mean. I am a carbon fiber fanatic.

I was thinkin that too but ... thats why I thought I'd see if someone was in the biz on here before I go to some shop and just get OEM.

I've made a couple of "upgrade" parts for other people at work. A waste gate for a Talon a few years back was a cool project.
