Default Prelude Concerns

Hi everyone, I am new and have a 1996 Prelude Si. I really love it, except for the fact that it is getting up there in miles (168k). I have really had no problems with it until now. Unfortunately, since Honda no longer makes Preludes, I can't go out and buy one. Does anyone think or know if Honda will bring them back? If I can't get one, I am thinking about a RSX or Civic Si, whichever is closer to being like a Prelude. I really want another Prelude though, best car I have ever had.

Wow, I do sympathize with you. We bought a 2000 in 2001, and debated buying a 2001 as well at that time just because we heard about them discontinuing.

I haven't heard of them bringing it back, but other manufacturers have brought back "lesser cars" for whatever reasons. So I keep hoping. In the meantime I have my eye on the NSX. Looks pretty zippy

I suppose if worst comes to worst, you could find a used 2001 with lots fewer miles. I couldn't imagine why someone would sell one. Well, maybe in favor of a McLaren (is that how you spell it?).

I don't believe they're bringing them back. No plans that I've heard of! sorry about that. but I guess you never know.

the rsx is probably the closer option to a lude.

Really? I guess I was just looking at the hot body on the NSX and making assumptions (women do this sometimes ) .

Maybe I shouldn't buy one so they won't discontinue it, though. This has happened to me twice!

Well, okay, I'll have to try a civic again. I drove one many years ago and wasn't too impressed. But it's been a good while.

Have they changed a lot since, say, the early 90s?

Those '97 to '2001 'Ludes are pretty nice. Several low-milers are out there with fantastic paint jobs and wheels.

Honda is canceling the RSX too, so if you want one, buy it soon.

if its just miles your worried about just find a used motor, rebuild and mod the heck out of it and dump it in when the original goes-that way you can do a little at a time to the motor and have it exactly what you want and still run a lude.
