Unhappy

Well today sucked big time. Got a CEL and it wouldn't go away so I pulled the Vtec pressure switch off my car and cleaned it up really good. As I put it back on it broke in half $40 that I don't have so I started checking the wires and theres no shorts. I then just grounded the wire so the CEL would go away.

Got my oil leak fixed all it was was the O-ring on the dist.

Then got a call that my brother need a ride home from work so I went to pick him up. Stoped a gas station and got some gas then got back in and started it up. Went to put it in first and it wouldn't go. I was like WTF and tried 2nd and nothing. put it reverse and it worked and then tried 1st again. nothing But then it went into 2nd and I got moving. got my brother and then went home. 3rd, 4th and 5th are fine but 1st is gone and 2nd is hard to get.

Not a good day at all. O yea and today was payday and I'm already broke. sirously I have only $35 and I dont get paid for 2 weeks.

well the thing is that it will go into all the gears except 1st. if it was a clutch issue I wouldn't get it in any gear.

After some searching I found out that the 88-91 civic/crx transmission have weak shift forks and are know to bend. Which causes 1 or more gears to not move. Thats why it feels like theres a wall in front of 1st but 2,3,4,5 and R are fine.

Two options get a used one that may be fine or maybe not fine. or get mine rebuilt.

Well finally got a transmission for my crx. Ran into some problems with it.

It started out I got a ride to go get the trans. and on the way home we hit the backside of vary bad storm witch created a few good size twisters. Luckally we only got the rain wind and HAIL. infact we got $2500 worth of hail. Cracked my friends carbon fiber hood, windshield and headlights. along with dents everywhere. They were golf ball sized and they were moving.

Well after gitting home I went to install the trans and thats when I relised it was a 88 EF 5 speed. I needed a 89-91 EF 5 speed. the input shaft in 21 spline on the 88 and 20 on the 89-91s. so my new clutch wont work with it. LOL

After some looking around I found the clutch that will work with my 98-91 light weight flywheel and pressure plate and with the 88 21 spline trans.
86-89 2.0L accords 212MM 20 spline clutch fits perfectly. Best part is the clutch disk is only $45.

Will have it back on the road by this weekend. I hope.

Also got the vary first part of my turbo setup today. And installed it, still have some thing that need to be installed and wired up. Not much but everything counts.
