Looking at the torque curve...You could tractor pull with this car. It's going to kick some serious booty.
I hate to rain on the parade, but you don't have forged internals do you? 10 psi might be a little too much for your motor. If you have an AFPR, you can turn down the boost a tad and lean out the fuel to match. You'll have less power, but you'll also have a car that runs.

these motors can run 12psi with no problems all stock. 10psi will stand up as long as I don't beat the hell out of it. Plus I only drive maybe 3 times a week. and on top of that I'm already looking for a new motor to really build up and throw some real boost at.
probably around 15-20psi ![]() |

Well how much boost you can run depends on what turbo and head you're using. 12 psi on a stock Si head and a tiny turbo is going to make way less power than the setup you're using. But if you're setting up a new motor, it really doesn't matter now does it?

Sounds just like my car (my BOV is shot too). But that's a soundtrack that really stirs the soul. I can't wait to see the first dragstrip video. I'll pop one.

After doing some research my BOV hasn't been opening at all. The sound you hear is compressor surge made really loud due to the open dump tube.

??? maybe I misread that, but it doesn't make any sense. How can you have an open dump tube and make any power at all? My BOV finally broke tonight and every time I hit the gas, the turbo would spool, but I wouldn't be making any boost. Do you mean you have a boost leak or your BOV is stuck and you're crushing the turbo with backpressure?

The bov is stuck closed so its holding boost fine. Its just not releasing it when I come off throttle.
The open dump tube is where the wastegate opens. On the TD05 stock exhaust its one solid cast piece I have a aftermarket tubular one and it has two pipes one for the exhaust exiting the turbo and one for the internal wastegate. |

Oh, that makes more sense. Better get that BOV fixed or you're going to need a new wastegate next.
