Exclamation Road Rage!!!

Hi All!

I just had a couple of interesting experiences in the last few hours with Road Rage. I had a guy flip out because I was a little slow on a turn where there is a big pothole and didn't want to bottom out the S2K. The guy actually revved the engine, almost hit me getting in the other lane to speed around me and flicked me off (all infront of a 6 year old and baby in a car seat).

I also have a lot of people that flip out in heavy traffic when you have a few cars space in front of you (driving a standard) because they feel that if you aren't tailgating (at all of 1 mph in traffic) you shouldn't be in the fast lane.

That said, I usually drive VERY quickly and cant be faulted for being a slow-shmoe.

What are everyones thoughts on roadrage and in dealing with people that are over the top? I'd like to hear your experiences and your thoughts on the issue.

Best,

Jon (JEMBR325)

Sounds like that guy had a huge problem! I had something on the same lines happen to me. I was driving I-95 South from maine to nj and i was in Conn. it was a 4 lane road and i was in the 3rd lane on the left. I turned my blinker on to switch to the right so that I could pull off and get the family some dinner. I put the blinker on and checked my mirrors, turned my head and had plenty of room to do the manuver. just as i started to drift lanes this crazy woman stepped on it got right up to my rear passanger fender pannel and started blowing her horn, giving me the finger, and cussing out her window.
I let her pass me and I made it quickly to the exit. she slowed and followed me to McDonalds where she started yelling at me for almost hitting her. i rolled up the windows and locked the doors and just waited for her to leave. . .she was just nuts

Some people just have no common sense when driving.

I was behind someone who was driving 15mph in a 45 zone, so I tried to pass him. He swerved into the left lane to prevent me from passing and my car ended up underneath his P.O.S. truck. He got out screaming like an idiot. He got cited for road rage and the police let me leave(first time for everything) His insurance company were some haters, they would only pay for 50%

I don't know if this ever happens to you all. . . but it's something I can't stand, just erks my nerves.

There are times that I'll be driving down the road with my wife and baby in the car and i'm taking it easy (mind you he's a newborn). i'll have some moron in a beat up civic, or eclipse or something they think is fast and they'll get right up on my bumper and rev their engine really high, swerve a little, fall back and do it over and over and over again. I don't get what they are trying to do, it's not like we're gonna race going down a public road with them starting behind me, and the last time i checked we aren't living in NFSU2 where you pull up behind another car and start and out run race! I don't get it, i truly don't understand what they are doing. . . . anyone else have that problem? or does anyone know what they are attemping to do?

Great points, it sounds like we all have had some interesting experiences with others who think they own your spot in the lane. So what as everone done?

Often I feel this is me.....

Ive actually considered getting registered for a 9mm in case someone acts overboard.

a gun might be overboard just a little unless the other driver pulls one first. I don't really have any sure fire advice on this, because it's all situational based.

Unfortunately this is the time we live in. When movies and games make illegal street racing seem cool. This is when we let the cooler heads prevail. We can't change the other drivers actions, but can control our reaction. Just take care the family which is what really matters in the world.

I've been living in Germany for the past 3 years and as soon as i get out of this sand box i'll be going back there.
Drivers in europe are a lot more impatient then ones in the US by far! it's worse down in Italy (lived there for 10 months). if there is anything worth driving on they will take it to get around you even if you are at a red light. it's crazy driving over there, but yet some how they are rated as better drivers then drivers in the US
