Well in my Dak I'm getting 16 babying it like crazy. I don't let it go over 2k rpm. But it still has decent acceleration I'm just not gasing it like I was.

my daily driver is supposed to get 19/27. I average around 22.
-this 'hypermile' this has been getting a lot of press lately. it was on the front page of Yahoo news and ABC news just did a piece on it. some of the practices seem a little extreme, but the basic tips seem reasonable. |

I don't even know what my gas mileage is in the daily driver but what I do so my pockets don't hurt as much is fill it up at 3/4 of a tank. LMAO, it makes me feel like I only spent $25 to fill up.

If the projections are correct, in the near future (10/15 years) there will be a fully functional Hydrogen Fuel system in place in the US. the DoE (department of energy) has set price goals of $2.00 - $3.00 a Kg (1kg of hydrogen = 1 gal of gasoline). It would be truly nice if they would speed up the process, but i understand why it's difficult. I'm hyped up about the FCX and only wish it was a reality for more people other than socal. the price is way too high as well @ $600 a month and can only be leased. If more automakers would push the fuel cell idea out there more then maybe, just maybe it will pick up some speed and save our shallow pockets

Its all your government and the oil companies that are stopping the hydrogen powered cars. They will lose money so they are putting the hold on it all. Just like you can get a gallon of gas for $2.50 in Mexico and they don't even have their own refineries. We in the US refine there oil and it is shipped back there. Now tell me why we are paying $4+ for a gallon of gas and we refine our own products?

personally, i'm pulling for the electric car movement. battery technology is improving, soon electric cars will be affordable to the masses as they are more mass produced. i support companies like Tesla who are at the forefront of this movement.

there is only one downfall that i can see to eletric cars and that is the recharge time. With gasoline and even hydrogen fuel, you can dispence that pretty fast into a tank, but batteries take a while to charge. I did some looking though and there is one company out there "Pheonix automobiles" that says their electric car can recharge in 10 min, but still thats a long time compaired to the others
