Angry What really grinds my gears!

Well we all have them.

Something that just iritates you to no end.

Mine is broke people.

Now I am not saying poor! There is a difference!

I am talking about the kind of 'friend' that only comes by when you are cooking out to mooch a free meal. They never answer your calls, but they always call you when you are in the middle of something. They never contribute, but they always have some reason they feel the need to ask you to borrow money.

So what if you cant get your lazy butt off the couch away from Jerry Springer to find a freakin job! Its not my fault you are sorry. Laziness is not a form of disability!

So what if I have a decent job! It is because I have worked my tail off to get where I am now! I started at the bottom. Now I can (and have) manage a 2 million+ square foot warehouse. I can and have drove anything with wheels from 2 to 30 and somethings without wheels. The 30-wheeled MaxWeight mover was fun but I am still scared of bikes! So if I can do it so can you!

So I guess I am just venting...but I want to see how many others have the same kind of 'friend', or what else really ticks you off?!?!

I hope I havent opened a pandora's box...

We have a ton of those here in PA, the old drivers drive very slowly, and they also tend to cut you off at intersections a lot.

Well we have a lot of old people here who think it is okay to turn the wrong way on one way streets!

There is one main intersection with four signs and traffic lights and atleast once a week some old coot turns the wrong way there and hits someone head on!

We have been trying to get the state patrol to watch the area closer and for the local licensing agency to start testing people over 70. Every accident there for the last 10 years has involved someone 70+ hitting someone head on!

What grinds my gears:
Police, Police that have nothing more to do with their time then to pull young people over for no reason.
I.E. I was home on leave in maine before I moved to Europe. I was asked by a friend if i could pick him up after his shift was done and I agreed. While i was looking for where he worked I got pulled over and the cop walks up "good evening sir, do you know why i pulled you over?". . . . "No, not really. I wasn't speeding, nor did I run a stop sign or a red light. . . " ......."true, but you were crusing". . . ."crusing? what do you mean? I've been trying to find where my friend works so i can pick him up, he asked me for a ride". . . "well sorry sir but you've driven back and forth on this road more then twice so i'm going to have to write you a ticket". . . ."what? you've got to be kidding me!,". . . that dang ticket was $80. But because i'm active duty and i chose to take it to court the date is differed until i'm off active duty which won't be until '09 and thats ruffly 3 years after I got the ticket. Some times i pays to be a soldier stationed in Europe (obtw thanks to the Soldiers and Sailors Relief act). I'm not using it to get out of the ticket but it would be hard for me to get home for the court date when ever Maine wants to set it. ESP now that i'm in Iraq

When something like that happens ask for the duty sargent to arrive...and explain the situation to him...especially if your friend walks up and says something like 'about time!'

Asking for the Desk SGT or the duty supervisor might work. . . in other places. My tip. . . .If you are young or look young, stay away from Augusta (maine)
