peakaboost... don't report threads unless it's in clear violation of forum rules.

If you guys want to play and fight like kids, keep it in private messages and out of the forums.

Thank you.

Thank you DriftMaster! I told him to keep it in PMs but he wouldnt listen.

Now, Drift, do you know how this issue in the garage can be fixed? Because, like I said, my car is a Civic SiR and Id like to display it as one.

I actually enjoyed reading this thread. No harm done. J_baby and Peak, you're both more than welcome to posts your opinions. but like Dre said, as long as it's clean.

I read this, and I kinda laugh. Simply because people ram their heads together all the time on forums, but if they actually get a chance to meet in person, they usually hit it off just fine.

I see a number of FACTs and CORRECT information in this thread. If everyone doesn't mind, I'd like to re-interate a bit while trying to stay on topic as much as possible, of course.

1~~There are LHD Honda's all over the EDM market that are Honda Badged SiR's. They are TRUE SiR's. Japan is not the only market to have released the SiR, but is one of the markets to have a RHD SiR.

2~~Have I seen too many authentic SiR's on this forum? No. Mine is a conversion. So mine is not authentic. I am not too proud to admit it and I don't have to lie to people about it.

3~~Does the "Member's Garage" section lack an option for the Civic SiR? Yup, clearly. There is an option for a CRX SiR, but not the Civic SiR. I see the point that is being made.

4~~The biggest mis-conception in the Tuner world is the Chassis codes that people actually have. I too, have referred to all of my 8 CRX's as EF chassis before. This is, of course, incorrect. I see people with USDM mid-90's hatches call them EG civics. This, of course, is incorrect. The media and other outlets have misguided the "tuner youth" that come into this scene, and it has taken a devistating toll. I can see how people like Jbaby that take the time to get an authentic EF9 and be offended when someone says that their USDM hatch is an EF9, or when someone converts to RHD and claim that they have a JDM car. I can understand that 100%.

It's a never ending battle that whole JDM topic. It's too bad the media does nothing to correct it and draw a final ruling. As far as the forum, there will always be corrections to be made and there will always be things wrong in different people's eyes. That's the beauty of the "inter-web!"

Peace.

I agree with Neil. However, I realised something when I took a look at my VIN decoder for Hondas: all Integras were built in Suzuka Japan. So I guess I (and Peak) do have a JDM car. May not be RHD, but you can't say it's not Japanese. Even so, I wouldn't call my car JDM, nor would I want to. I think the whole "we must have Japanese parts" thing is dumb. I've never understood the JDM obsession. My car was supposed to be sold in America. Why would I want to change that? It looks fine the way it is and drives fine. I'm not ragging on anyone else's conversion (so please save the hate mail). Call me a purist, but to me that feels like putting together a good Mustang and calling it a Shelby. It's similar, but not the same.

Nice post, Neil. We'll add the Civic SiR in a few days.
