I do not buy anything for my car off of eBay that it would bother me to throw into the trash!

i understand that if i'm to get anything off ebay, to get the kind of things where it won't matter much if it's not a name brand or something...like headlights or that kind of thing....is this true?

Headlights can be tricky b/c if they were built poorly than they may fail inspection, as the bulbs can be pointe at the wrong angle. Best to buy name brand and avoid the hassle of trying to make a bargain work. Off-brand tend to fit worse than name brand and have worse quality.

Google search. Or pick up a car magazine. They have tons of ads for that kind of gear.

I have only bought an intake off of ebay.. The intake was fine and everything but the mount for it didn't work well for my car but luckily my stepdad is good with that stuff and he and I made a mount for it that fit my car.

Edit: And to fix your problem with your headlights read up on them before you buy them on the page. If it advertises that they are DOT and SAE stamped and approved then they should meet all of the standards because those approvals mean that they meet all of the legal standards. If they don't meet all of the standards like they say they do send them back and ask for a refund.. Honestly if the company doesnt give you a refund then spread a bad word about them.. Theres nothing stronger than to voice your opinions and expirences with companies. You will end up paying them back by cutting the amount of consumers they have. Leave a bad review about them and tell all your friends and leave posts on blogs like HClub so people know not to buy from them and eventually they will lose a lot of buisness.
