Obey all the laws on or off duty.
Imagine DRE, ur at a store and a couple of guys start to pick a fight with you, someone calls the cops, these guys are really lookin to start something, ask ur self do u want the cops driving the speed limit, stopping at all the red lights or would u like them to get there ASAP? There are 3 cop cars headed toward u, the first one gets there and stops the fight, at what point do the other two turn off thier lights and siren? When my friend go shot, every cop in the county started headin towards him, after the first dozen or so cars got there the rest were slowed down. Wonder what kind of call the cop u saw run the light was cancelled off of? |

I was pulled over at 1AM driving to my ex's house. Now mind you, I'm driving the '92 accord with no mods. Roll down my window, and the cop's like "sorry, my department requires me to make 3 documented stops per hour, and you have a headlight out. Here's your warning... I just need your license, and you'll be on your way."
Couldn't find my registration to save my life, I told him this, and he's like "ok, cool, whatever, no big deal." Best night ever. |

Well I have seen them do that... There are two reasons....if a silent alarm has been triggered they will try to sneak up on a person...think about it. You break into a place and there is no alarm sounding...so you start to clean them out...now if you hear a siren coming you will run and probably get away. But would you run if you never heard a siren? Probably not...that way when you go outside with a bunch of loot...boom...busted! The other reason is as you stated...they are just in too big a hurry and think they dont have to obey they laws. That is where you call the local number and tell the duty sargeant what happened, car number and location. If they just ran the light to run it they will get into trouble... My dad was a Kentucky State Patrolman for 15 years...and I remember him getting in trouble for the exact same thing...all you have to do is call and register a complaint...make sure you got the car number, location and time. They WILL put a stop to it!

I notice alot of cops speed for no apparent reason where I am from and that is a fact. So I will just follow them on the highways and when they exit they just wave. I like the local cops.

All rattle, no roar.

That's so true! If they are speeding and you follow them, they can't stop you for speeding. They were doing the same speed beforehand!
Example: I was coming from Moncton the other day and I was going about 120kmh in a 110kmh zone. Then this RCMP cop car starts to past me, going at least 130. They were both relaxing in the car, no lights, nothing. So I get up behind them and followed them to Shediac. Well, a trip that would have taken ~20 minutes took exactly 9 minutes. I followed the cop right up to the station. Lucky me I live 2 streets down!! |

lol...nice one... I have also followed a state trooper that was bored and he was daring me to pass him. I slowed down when he did and when he sped up I did as well. The speed limit was 55mph on the Basin Bridge and it is LONG! I was doing 60 then a cop passed me with no lights on. So I sped up, before I know it I am cruising at 95 in a 55. We go for a while then he slows down so I slow down. He gives me the eyes in his rear view mirror then he punches it again. We get up to 115 and the bridge is done. He exists at the next turn off and waves at me and gives me a smile. It was good times. It also saved me a butt load of time.
