It look like we have a lot of sports bike (vs touring) fans.

One quick point: If its your first bike (more of an issue with a sports bike), I would caution you in choosing a bike that has the right displacement to meet your skill level -- otherwise you will substantially increase your chances of getting into an accident. Be safe and good luck!

I had a '90 NT650 hawk. So fun and ahead of its time. I regret selling it.

When I was in College I bought a brand new '86 Honda CMX450C aka Rebel 450.

As far as fun factor was concerned, that was hard to beat! And last I knew it was still running strong for the person I sold it to after I replaced it with a '83 GL1000 Std.

U still have that '83 GL1000? That bike is the bomb! I had dreams of ownin' that bike back in the day!

Regrettably, no. And that was a typo on my part it was a GL1100. I sold it to a gentleman from Sayville, NY.
