alright, so Zero compression in Cyl. 1,2,4 ? That would lead me to believe that it's a valve problem. Even if there was a problem with the Head you'd still get some reading in the cyl, unless it wasn't bolted down right. but the zero compression would explain the hard starting engine.
i'm going to stick to my original though and call it "valve guides", but either way it's going to be hard to diagnose the problem whith the motor still together. Hate to say it, but you might have to tear it down again |

I have no idea why it'd take 2 1/2 month before you started showing signs of a bad vlave job, but then again who actually knows how long their fuel pump will last before it goes out. The only explination I can give is that they were not installed/setup properly and over the course of driving it every day it just took that long for the problem to show itself. Like i stated before, it's going to be hard to pin-point exactly what the problem is with the head still on. Even if you did have a HG leak somewhere you'd still be getting some compression in cyl 1,2,4. OR this could be a compound problem. while it was still running did you see any thing different in the exhaust? was it colored differently? did it smell funny?

I can answer this one: wear. Sloppy valve jobs tend to show up later on. It may be fine when you start out (especially with brand new parts), but as stuff wears out, things turn ugly quick. I assume you beat on your car pretty hard, which only accelerates the problem.
If I were you, I'd find a junkyard motor. Swap it in and get your current motor completely looked at. Upgrade whatever you want or whatever needs to be replaced. Then drop it in. Having the junker will give you a car while you're figuring out what's wrong with your good engine. Plus you have a backup if something else goes wrong. If you have a backup car, then you can skip this, but bottom line, it sounds like you're going to have to invest some time and money in this one.

Cuz the K is a PITA to swap in an Integra that old and really expensive. Besides, he's already got a pretty good sounding B-Series in there. Might as well run with it, no?

alright alright alright. . . so the fiscal part of a k swap would be a major deturant, but hey it's an idea. i agree with your earlier post, swap it out with a junk yard B in good condition so that the one in the car can be redone and done the right way, if not better.
