i would have to agree with it being a belt in my limited experience that is usually the part that squeals, so check it and/or change it and see if it goes away.

Being the car being a 95 it may be lacking proper maintenance. Belts are cheap so I would just change it.

Its deff one of your belts. I would go ahead and change them all (except timing unless its been 100k) because if one has went bad they all will be going out soon.

ok i wasn't for sure. i will look into getting them cuz i know i have had to drop tons of money into the engine to fix parts cuz the last driver did nothing with maintenance. how much would u expect for the cost of belts to be replaced? any specific belts you would recommend first(i will get them all eventually)?

Mhm...my hatch made a squeal at about the same time in your describing, turned out to be the idler gear pulley. Bearings were shreaded but only started to squeal at like 3000rpms then went away at 5000rpms. So change the belts, then have a shop take a look at it if the noise continues.

Probably the power steering belt. Those are the most frequent squeelers. It would also squeel when you are making tight turns (like when you are parking).

yeah switching the power steering belt first But it does not squeal in tight turns just on initial startup for about 10-15sec.

thats because the belt is cold and doesn't want to move (think about racers warming up their tires) so it gives more resistance.

^^^Not quite. The belt might be just a tiny bit too tight. When it heats up, the belt gets more grip. It's slipping when it's cold because it has no grip (like a cold tire). Try loosening all your belts (one at a time of course) and retightening them. When tight, you should be able to squeeze the belt in the middle and it should deflect about 2 inches. I've used this method on a couple of cars and it never had a problem. That should help out. If not, you can pick up belt silencing goo from your local auto parts store.
