Anyone know how far forward the rear quarterpanels extend in the DC2 Integra (95-01)? I need to replace one of mine (stupid tree) and I want to know if it will be easier to cut out the bad spot in mine or replace the whole thing. I also need to replace the trunk panel. I've got bends from about the backseat all the way to the tail light. Or should I just ditch my car? I'm not too familiar with bodywork, so any help would be nice.

Replace the entire quarter. Just get a spot weld cutter (which is just a spacial kind of drill bit) and remove the skin. It will involve a little welding and body work, but if your asking about changing it I guess you can do said body work.
If you take pictures I can tell you the best thing to do. It actually sounds like its more than the quarter if you have to change the trunk as well.

Yeah, it starts at the quarter panel and goes through to the rear bumper (knocked out the tail light too). I'll upload a pic of that side soon. I think I know how to replace the thing, I just need to know how much more interior I have to strip before I can do that. So far I've gotten up to the headliner. Everything from the door back is gone, and it hasn't been fun to remove everything (someone wrecked the car long before I got it, and whoever did the repair work did a terrible job. Wrong fasteners and overspray everywhere).

Sounds like you will need a rear panel as well and possibly a new floorboard in the trunk as well.

I flattened out the floor, but the rear panel that the lights, bumper, and trim all bolt into is messed up, along with the 1/4 panel. I'll have some pictures posted in my car's profile (the '95) real soon.
Ok, got a couple more pics up. I closed up the hole in the fender with some fiberglass (I had to grind it open so I could pull it out and stop water from coming in). But it still looks real ugly. I looked at the fender and it seems to go from the bumper, where it meets the trunk, and go all the way past the A-pillar. I mostly want to verify that, because if it's true I have a lot more interior to pull before I attempt repairs. Last edited by 8695Beaters; 01-18-2008 at 05:42 PM. Reason: Pix |
