Default Anyone has trouble with suspension???

I dont know if its our cars....but we had trouble installing coilovers on my integra and 2 of my boys tegs becuase the screw that connects the strut to the control arm snaped on all of them while trying to take it out and messed up the bouching....even my boys Si did that. Is that common on all integras because it happened to all of us !!!

it's comon on any car with high milage or a car thats been exposed to outside weather, simple fact is, that bolts rust. Rusted bolts = broken bolts.

As i always say, if it looks rusted, go buy the bolts before attempting to take it out. I usually load them up with wd40 and let htem sit, then some carb cleaner, and i have this other gell that destroys rust. then i heat it up and then remove them.

I Didn't Even Mess With Coilovers, I Went Directly With Lowering Springs Way Easier

It depends on what kind of driving you do. Springs are the easier, cheaper alternative for lowering. However, depending on the coilover you get you options are pretty much limit-less. I'm aiming for the Teins with that FDIC controller, or w/e it's called. That looks like the cats meow right there!

My exploits from a different site:
1=When I was looking for my rear struts yesterday, that's what the parts guy called it, "so this is at the rear of the horse, eh?" You'll have to pardon me, I thought it was funny just the way HE said it. ANYWAYS, Just curious if this is common, or if it's just one more time my honda's taking shots at me.
Putting my eibach sprotlines on Sat. night. Fronts came out nice, my spring compressor didn't wanna get a bite on the springs though......but we got it. The rears......now that's a different story. Oh yeah. Mad Took out the first one, not too bad. Put the hex key in the top, put the 14mm on the nut (it's already been lubed), and gave 'er hell. Yeah.....and stripped out the hex on top. Rolling Eyes I hate you little honda. Ok, well let's just get this other one out of the car, and we'll see if we can't get it apart. Nope, wouldn't even come out. Bottom bolt didn't WANNA move.....oh, but it did. I love heat. And I only broke two Snap-on 14mm sockets doing it. And do you think at least ONE store in LaCrosse would have struts......nope. But we'll have em here tuesday. Yeah, lotta good that'll do me when I'm driving a semi somewhere around the United States. sorry, just venting. SO, I think this might be a common thing, especially with cars in the upper midwest.....but that damn hex is in the car? Oh well, the front is two inches lower....just leave it that way and get better gas mileage cause I'm always going down hill!

2=
Damn, I dont feel so bad now!!! No, really, tough break. I got the driver side rear on/done. The pass. side is a different story. I'm 3 for 4 right now. Can't get the strut out of the car! I think it corroded to the bushing in the strut, you know the metal part. Oh, and while putting in the driver side, I broke a damned break line.......wow.

3=
otta love being a home owner. Finally got some time to work on the rex....with the saws-all. Got frustrated and just cut the strut in half to get it out of the car for starters. Piece of cake. Then, there's still the issue of this damn bolt. Three blades, a pretty good gash on my arm, and a lost wrench (I think it landed in the neighbor's yard), and I got the bolt. Finally done......with this project. can't wait to see what she throws at me next!!! Rolling Eyes

And that was only the beginning of my rusty "woes."
