idle problem - HondaClub.com

recently my car has been idling very wierd. it starts fine then goes to 1500rpm and climbs to 2000rpms then back down and back up. it constantly jumps between 1500 and 2000 rpms......anyone have any idea what the problem might be?

can be a lot of things...

egr valve
idle control
throttle position sensor
air flow meter
computer issues

Has the car thrown any codes?

no not yet. ive checked it and everything checks out ok. some people have told me it just might be trying to warm up quicker.....but then again it never did that before.

not unless you have had a sudden temperature change...

Lets start with the basics...disconnect the battery and leave it off for a few hours to make the computer reset. Some people will say just a few minutes but you want to do a hard reset so you need atleast 2 hours to drain the back-up battery that is in the computer

probubly the iac. but try taking off the egr first and cleaning real good.
