I am trying to remove the crankshaft pulley bolt on my 1996 Acura Integra. I have tried a 1/2" drive air impact wrench and a 3/4" drive electric impact wrench and can't get it to break loose.
Local Acura dealerships service departments tell me the bolt is standard right hand threads. Mechanics have suggested using a breaker bar and the starter motor to break the bolt loose, but it appears to me that the engine rotation would tighten the bolt rather than loosen it. Any ideas would be helpful. |

i always put on a socket with a wrench and then slip a pipe over the wrench that is long enough to hit the ground and then bump the starter to break loose the bolt...works every time!

I believe the bolt is 19mm. and the pulley is 50 or 55mm it depends of the model. You have to get the correct special wrench. There are other method to get it out, but in my opion it will ruin the timing belt. To lose it, hold the special wrench and turn counterclockwise the 19mm wrench. If it's hard use long pipe. I just did it and very easy. good luck!
