Default 93 Integra keeps overheating

I just had the radiator replaced and all of the hoses as well but for some reason the engine keeps overheating. Any suggestions as to the problem?

Have you checked the thermostat and the electric fan to make sure it works?

I have had the thermostat replaced as well and the fan comes on when the air conditioning is on. I don't know if it works when it is not on. Do you know how I can check?

well if the car heats up to the red area and the fan does not come on then it is the coolant temperature switch...that is what tells the fan to come on...if you only have one fan...some cars have two.

Is there a way for me to check and see if that is the problem?

if you have two fans what you need to do is first figure out which is ac and which is cooling....usually by turning on the ac and see which one comes on...

then take the connector loose to the other fan and run jumper wires to the battery...if it turns the fan is good...if not the fan motor is bad.

if the fan turns then you know it is the coolant temperature switch...just go to your favorite auto parts store and buy another one...should be less than $20.00

after the engine warms up, put your hand behind the fan. You should feel the fan blowing. If it's not, then it's broken. Also, check the hoses to see if there are any air bubbles in the lines. Take off the radiator cap and knead the hoses. The bubbles will come out and you'll have to add more fluid. I saw a Subaru that had this problem and when the air pockets came out it dropped from red to just over blue in a couple of seconds.

Your water pump might be bad to if it isnt the fans. One of my DAs had that same problem, the thermostat and the water pump was the culprit.

diddo
1.water pump
2. fan switsh
3.head gasket
how to check: ( check cold)
take the radiator cap off and then start the car, if the coolant pushes out its the head gasket,if it dont push out is no the head gasket. try the other 2.

Your Rad fan is on the right (passanger side). You can jump the cooling fan relay to test it operation. just pull the relay and jump the 2 bigger gauge wires. or you can jump the cooling fan switch which is located in the bottom of the rad you should also make sure its connected if you just had a rad done.
