Default High compression ratio

Is runing too high of a compression bad for your engine?
Im gathering info on an ls vtec swap thats coming up for my 91 teg and i ran into this CR(compression Ratio) calculator that tell you how much CR you will have with a given combination of piston, head, block, gasket and piston size.
According to the calculator my compression ration would be 12.6:1 with pct 81.25 pistons, b18c head, b18a block and a 3 layer gasket but it could go as high as 13.3:1 with a single layer gasket.
Is this safe ( for both compression numbers).
Could I run this much compression safely with some mods, if not

Stock H22s make the most compression for any Honda that I know off (which is all besides the NSX) it makes 11.7:1 (JDM) and 11.5:1 (USDM). Many motorcycles run 13:1 so I don't think your calculator is correct. If so then I think keeping the 3 layer gasket on is best. You do not want to spray, or put any force induction on a motor making this kind of compression. Also, the more compression a motor makes the shorter it will last.

Hey, thanks for the reply.

Would you think I would have detonation problems runing an lsv @ 12:1 compression (lets say the calculator was off a little).

btw heres the link to the calculator, let me know as far as how acurate it is, I cant get a hold of the guy who made this calculator, otherwise I would've asked him the same question.

Cool site. 12:1 should run pretty good for a while.

What parts are you using on the calculator?

PCT pistons @81.25 bore, b18c head on b18A block I will def go with the 3 layer gasket to keep the comp from being too high.
Im collecting as much data as I can before I do the swap. I want to do things right so no horror stories could be told. I have the complete head with the p28 obd1 ecu, skunk 2 manifold and dizzy, but doing this swap is going to be just like doing a rebuild with custom work and reinforcements. Still need the vtec water and oil pump, timing belt, arp head bolts, all necessary bearings etc.
If my comp ratio is going to be that high, I'm considering some forged rods of stock length (LS ofcourse) and Im considering some sleeves, not sure yet but I want something reliable reving no more than 8700 on a b16 tranny

if you run 12.1 you should use super gas at the pump even so that is a little risky anything higher you'll have to use race gas i had a friend who popped his motor with to much compression lol
