Default GSR or GS,LS or maybe something else?

I want integra for my first car which is gonna be in few months but ive been thinking if its really worth paying 1 or 2 more Ks just to get the GSR version with B18C. I know that its got VTEC and the other ones dont but sing you guys drive tegs on daily basis it would be greatly appreciated if you guys have me some feedback on the different model of integra and some comparsent or even your personal opinions and what you think i should do

I'd go with a GSR. GSR has other things besides Vtec as for differences but Vtec is prolly the biggest difference. I know that the rims are different, some of the interior pieces are different, and there might be some handling differences.

The GS-R is overall a better car. They have leather (option), better suspension, the better engine and trans, and are nicer overall.

Well they were when they were new. The newest Integra ever built is now 8 years old. So the only advantage to the GS-R is the B18C1. If you're planning on doing any kind of sanctioned racing (SCCA autocorss for example, which I highly recomend), engine swaps bump you far out of and stock class. So the GS-R will save you a lot of headache. There is usually some kind of allowment for certain mods (for example, if you upgrade an LS Integra into a FULL ITR conversion, it will be considered a stock ITR), but that's a lot of work and you'll probably end up paying more for the same car.

On the other hand, if you just want your own fun ride, then go for the LS. You can save up and do an LS/VTEC swap (great experience) or swap in your own B18C1 (also great experience). Then you can have fun with all the details like JDM parts, coilovers, rims, and bolt ons. Spreading out the cost of building your own awesome Integra will be easier to swallow. And you'll learn a lot more, which is a big plus for you. A good 1997ish LS Integra should go for about $3000. That's a clean car with no damage, mid 100K miles, and adult owned. If it's one thing I've learned, it's that kids don't give two ****s about their own cars. My car was nicely modded when I bought it, but never maintained. I've spent nearly 2 grand fixing stuff that has been ignored for years.

thanks for the info guys im debating about it and its probably gonna come down to how much money i will have. it would be awesome to have GS-R but the time will show what im gonna be capable of getting. So beaters wouldnt it cost more to buy LS and than swap the engine? Plus my uncle can buy cars from auctions so i was thinking about after a slight accident car with some damage in the back cause i know its not worth buying a damaged car that has the damage done to the front cuz its never gonna be working perfectly again. You said that LS would be about 3k? so than GS-R i would be lookin for about 6k? more or less?

Damaged cars will be a nightmare. Hatchbacks require very precise fitment. I've owned 4 hatches-all of them have leaked on me. Rear damage is also very expensive to repair. Rear quarter panels can't be replaced-they have to be cut out and welded together. That's more expensive than straightening a frame.

If you're going to buy an auction car, buy one that has no engine (aka stolen). Replacing an engine is acutally less of a headache than repairing damage, mostly because paint isn't involved. Yes, buying a clean LS and swapping the engine is more expensive, but you're spreading out the cost, so you can actually afford it.

cp, i love my ls but if i had a gsr life would be different. u can find a gsr for like 4500 and it will be decent but rember that parts for it are goin to b more expensive cuz its the gsr so choose wisely when u pick a car i personally would go for the ls but the gsr is nice

Well that would depend on how resourceful you are. Things like coilovers, exhausts, wheels, shifters, etc. span trim lines. So if someone wants you to pay more for a part you know is identical to the LS, they're scamming you.

the civic that my mom has not and thats "suppose to" be mine but i dont want it had a rear end damage and everything seems to be just fine, buy swaping an engine would be a hell of fun and experiance but the problem is im a teen and i dont know if my parents would be so happy about it or even let me do it but i wish that they would i would love to do the engine swap

so beaters your saying that i can get some parts for LS like coilovers shifter etc. and they will still fit the GSR?

As long as it doesn't have to do with engine internals or engine management, then yes, the parts are identical. If you're unsure, check the part numbers. They should also be identical.
