Unhappy Water leak

I've been having water problem and trying to determine what the problem may be. It happens when it rains. At first I just noticed the carpet was wet on drivers side. This morning front and back was soaked and water was dripping from sun roof. I might add that some kids ripped off the side molding to my windshield and I'm having a very difficult time trying to replace it. One place wanted to charge me 250.00. For windshield molding......I love my integra...help????

Go to someplace like advance auto parts or autozone and buy some black windshield installation silicone...

follow the manufacturers instructions for using...basically if you can caulk a window or door on your home you can do it...

otherwise cut the tip about 1/4 inch back at a 45' angle...

keep the tip to the top and while holding the tube diagonally so that the cut stays in contact squeeze gently causing the material to flow out...like toothpaste.

continue on with a bead until the entire gap is filled...let sit for 24 hours and you should be good as new.

Default water leak

Thanks, guess it is worth a shot. Wonder why it is so expensive to replace?

Must be a high priced shop...I had a brand new windshield installed in my wifes saturn wagon and only paid $240.00...and that included buying a new windshield for $165...only $75.00 installation...

Eyes...yeah, it's puzzling. He's usual pretty good with other things. He did my timing belt and water pump for way under market value. The only otherplace I could seem to find a replacement was an online acura dealer and he wanted 150 for just the parts

He may have been planning to completly pull the old one...the molding sits on the windshield which 'floats' on sealant.

If you want to make sure it never leaks then you pull the windshield, remove the old sealant, put in new sealant, reinstall windshield, put in more sealant, put on moulding and hope you never crack the windshield...very difficult!

If that was the plan then I could see paying that much but to basically just glue the piece in you would be better just doing it yourself.
