I am currently a subscriber to both Sirius, and XM. I am an over the road truck driver. I called a month ago to cancel my XM account. The reason for this is that their programming has gone down hill tremendously in the 5 years I've had it. They have lost all their good programming and they are all going over to Sirius. When I called to cancel my XM, they asked me how much I want to pay a month......? I told her I don't want to pay anymore, I want it canceled. She then offered me XM for $1.00 a month. I gladly accepted. This is the only reason I still have XM.

Yes, they are the biggest with 6.5 million listeners, but look at both sides of the coin. XM was the first in satellite. Sirius has cleared 4 million, as is growing rapidly. XM lost all their contracts to Sirius (NASCAR, Bubba, etc.). And I don't think a company is doing very well when they offer subscriptions for a buck just to keep you. I would call that desperation.

I guess we'll see what happens when the GM, Honda, and other auto contracts expire. I figure they will drop from 6.5 million, to about 3million in no time flat. They have these auto markets because people only hear what XM wants them to hear. If they tried the other option, they would switch. This is from someone who has heard both sides of it from both radios.

Sat radio is a nice touch no matter XM or Sirius. I don't think it matters if you put in an aftermarket or have a factory installed unit.

I like the XM but don't want to pay more than I have to.
Anyone know of a way to get it at a discount?

I don't like satellite radio period. I find it too complicated... and don't argue with me either. It may be easy for you and not for other. Just my 2 cents.

I prefer good'ol basic radio and CDs.

Personally I find it easier and simpler than my CDs and the FM / AM radio.
