It definatly kicks and there is a definite sound change, but only if you are going WOT

the R18 does not have a "VTEC" as far as performance goes, it is designed for fuel efficiency, so there is no "kick" in the auto civic.

Usually a CAI will increase VTEC kick

Do you have any recommendations for and exhaust. I’m looking for something that gives me power, but I don’t like coffee can exhausts. I like something that sounds good but not lowed and annoying. [/quote]

HFP might give a slight gain and has sound slightly louder than Si exhausts that is still pretty refined I think

It won't give you a big gain, maybe 1-2 HP, but even the best exhaust will probally give you maybe 8hp.
