Default Autocross Racing

Don't know if this is the right forum for autocross, but here it is.... :-)

My question is this: I have a 2000 Prelude that I want to adjust for autocross. I did not buy the top of the line model for my husband's sake--he worries about my, well, "tendencies," lol!

But I have also been reading the model discussions on this forum, and wonder if I should look at another car. I realize that the races are model-specific, but I'd still like to have the best car for the most fun.

Any advice/suggestions, etc., that you could pass on to me would be much appreciated.

I don't really know about the technical possibilities for your car but vmaybe you could expand on how often you would want to use the car for racing? I mean is it worth fitting your car with special stuff just because you like to hit the tracks a few times a year?

That's a good question, ninikins. I guess I would like to go out on a regular basis, but the way life gets in our way sometimes that's probably unrealistic. I had actually hoped to make it a new hobby, but it's an expensive one.

Hmm. Time to rethink, probably--after I go tear around the supermarket parking lot. Lol!

Thanks, ninikins. :-)

I'll look at the acura/gsr for sure, but I think I'll sell the Corolla instead of the 'lude. :-) I so love my zippy green friend.

Another advantage to this is I might find one already decked out for speed and maneuverability. Good suggestion--thanks!

keep the prelude and do soem mad suspension or sumething, upgrade the motor, **** ive seen stock h22 motors like ur preludes run 13.7 but of coarse the whole car was gutted!!! if u got a 13 sec car and some suspension autocrossing should be much fun!!
