In all honsty go take a look at Volkswagen, not saying that cause thats what i just got but cause they have awesome power, light weight car, and they're not that common. look at like Mk3 (93-99) GTi's or Golfs. if you get one with a VR6 it'll fly, then stick a turbo on it, that thing will easily hit 160. even w/o the turbo. or even a 1.8T stock turbo, those fly too. The 2.0 will give you a real nice deep and throaty sound, but all of em will do that.

VW's are not the best car. In all honestly I'm a huge hater on these, for many reasons.

The styling is big and bold and totally does not suit the car. The motors are uncommon, made totally retarded and don't last very long. The turbos they come with are weak and the cars themselfs are very very slow. I've seen many many 1.6 SOHC civics smoke 1.8T Jettas and Golfs. A majority of the VW crew is 4 door which is horrid IMHO. In the long run I'll spend half the money you will to make my car 4 times as fast. Even the R32 is a joke and the AWD problems they have are well known. The transmitions are also crap.

If you don't go with a Honda get a WRX or something.

I was thinking about saying that, but I didn't want to attack a car he just bought. I think some of the new VWs have nice styling, but I've heard horrific things about quality.

true, vw is weird like that, you either get a nice one, or a bad one. but the rest is your opinion. a VW is what you make it. If you don't take care of it, its not going to be a great car. yes they are much much more expensive, but the same could be said for any german car. I like VW cause most of the people that drive them know how to make a nice looking car. Now im not bashing on anyone here but everyone of us has seen that civic that has a bondo body kit and wooden spoiler. the reason i like euro's is cause they do clean, not overdone. but hey, everyone is entitled to their own opinions. I don't consider myself to be a "mopar guy" or a "honda guy" or even a "vw guy". i just love cars and love workin on em.

VWs suck, im srry. They are heavy and very, very slow. I give credit to the GTI vr6, but a civic hatch with a TL v6 would beat the crap out of it ( in a straight line ofcourse) . Honda v6s have more power than the vr6.
I do agree with you about the VW having a more simpler styling. I hate to see hondas with oversized body kits .
personally, I'd go nissan 240 B4 turning to the VW even though its not all that bad.
