Best time to buy a car - HondaClub.com

My dad is giving me $5000 to buy a car and right now I'm trying to find a 97-01 Prelude.

Right now he is trying to convince me to wait until spring. In the meantime I would have to drive the '99 oddysey

, '05 accord, and '05 s2k

.

The biggest downside is that my insurance is $103 a month (primary driver on ody.), and on top of that the s2k might become a daily driver, not a recreational car.

I'm trying to figure out when the best time to buy a used car is, and I'm trying to convince my dad to let me buy a car now instead of in the spring.

When buying a new car the end of the year is the best. I figgure right before Christmas for a used car because people need that cash for holiday trips and presents, ect.

Plus dealers pay taxes on vehicles sitting on their property on Jan 1st, so hit them on the 30th or 31st of Dec and act not to interested and you pretty much have them by the...

Well, he isn't keen on crashes, especially after totaling his 02 accord and smashing his 05.

Yeah, I'm still waiting for a deer to jump out in front of him while driving the s2k (second accord crash was hitting a deer on the highway at 70mph)

that is the downside to central PA

come to think of it the first crash was due to a dump truck that probally would not have happened if we didn't live in an area with so many $%*$@in trucks

oh well, at least there are plenty of mountain roads
