I spent 2 years in japan with civics, skylines, silvias, rx7s, and supras... JDM is nice and all but its over rated to me. Although I still have great appreciation for JDM styled cars and the people that put the time and money to make it that way. But life isn't always fair, so I'll say that to say this. If it was made any where but Japan... It is NOT a true JDM car. If your going to put all your money into it to make it look JDM, just import one instead. Thats what I think. All in all though, JDM style to me isnt a teg with a honda H on the front end... every thing from the doors, to the corner lights, and every thing in between should be done if you want to call your car JDM. but still its a North American car with a lot of JDM accents.

I get a kick out of all the guys that run around saying, "hey, check out my EK hatch!" When it is clearly a USDM LHD EJ hatch. Or confusing their ED, or EE for an EF. The Magazines, and other media sources have really tarnished what JDM actually is. When I flip through a magazine and see a LHD CRX HF with a JDM Front clip and the magazine reads, "Check out this amazing JDM CRX!" That annoys the sh*t right out of me.
My car is an 88 HF converted to RHD/glasstop. It has tons of JDM parts and I have been building it to be as close of a REPLICA as I can, but it is not JDM. It is a USDM HF with sh*t tons of JDM flavor. Why didn't I import one if I wanna be "JDM?" Because this car is legal to drive on the streets, and is registered legally. I could very easily import whatever I want because I am sort of "in the business" but chose not to. When I say in the business, I mean I just recently got a friend an EF9 SE, and another friend a 99 CTR. So I can get them, but would rather be able to enjoy it legally without title swapping. That's the only reason. Once the business takes off, I will import myself an NSX-R and pay to have it registered legally here. Until then, I have to be a broke ass white boy. lol

JDM is where you take a car. lower it and have nothing but rims suspension and lips kits. no body kits no wings that dont belong. the way they came from japan with fog lights different bulbs, no rev limit motors. and 10-20 extra HP, different interior, and smooth looks
