I think Pep Boys sells Hawks. Hawk blacks would be good for you. A little bit milder would be the reds or the yellows. Check out Hawk's website, they can tell you which will work for you. EBC Greenstuffs are also pretty good, but they are a little more abrasive. Most of those choices will probably have to be special ordered, but they can get them.

A tip for changing your pads (and I can't believe I'm saying this, but I read it in Project Car): when you swap the pads, use a c-clamp to push the piston back into the caliper. That way you don't have to bleed the system (a big PITA. don't do it if you don't have to). Also, stomp on the brakes 3 times after you swap the pads (press the pedal slowly, and do it after you have finished each side). Then take a lap around the neighborhood to make sure that they are seated correctly and doing their job. Also make sure you follow the bedding procedure from the manufacturer.

BTW, you won't see much of a gain in stopping distance with your new pads. Your tires dictate how good your brakes work. Think about it: if you had Ferrari's ceramic/carbon rotors and pads, you would have all the stopping torque in the world. But try to put all that torque to the ground through some hard compund tire, and all you will do is skid. So be careful the first time you take it out in the rain, as it will be a bit easir to lock up the tires.

To swap the pads you could also pry the piston back with a screwdriver before removing the caliper. This takes out some of the headache of using a C' Clamp. You could also get a set of pad separators that make is A LOT easier.

C-clamp is really easy. Just open the sucker up and clamp away. I tried a big scredriver but that didn't work as well.
