No doubt its a quick truck. Plus you get all the benefits from sharing most of your components with the 5.3L and the 4.8L. If you've got any specific questions about it, let me know....or if you want a build sheet on it, I can do that too. I'm a parts guy at a GM dealership.
Good luck with it! |

Cool deal bro. I am still looking for the right one that catches my eye. Do you know of any weak points in those trucks? I will go F/I or n2o. Maybe both haha.

Nothing too serious...the speedo on the instrument cluster doesn't work right (but usually the dealer will fix them for free), the intermediate steering shaft sucks on the truck (but usually the dealer will fix them for free), catalytic converters are bad about going out.....not too common, but worse than I normally see, other than that, they're pretty stout. If I had to recommend either f/i or n2o, it'd be f/i via a supercharger. I can see the internals withstanding constant additional pressure much better than a quick strong burst.
Either way, let me know if I can help you out with it! |

Too small of displacement for my taste.

Honda's are addicting

It's got a 4.0 liter V6...it runs 0-60 in 7.5 secs dead stock....and TRD makes a supercharger for it....i love those trucks and for about 6k with the supercharger the things run over 500hp....hell stock the thing has like 245hp and a over 300ftpds of torque.....think about it...FR drivetrain, superlight truck, factory 6-speed, looks great, and it already has a SC made just for it that won't **** up the engine....idk i just love those trucks....their is one in my area that is running over 550whp and the guy has spent less than 10k under the hood, the tranny is super heavy duty for towing and such so it doesn't even complain about the new power.

I would also like the towing capacity of the full size. I don't see a little X-Runner pulling the trailer I have loaded to the gills with 4 wheelers and a bed full of camping stuff.

I don't know how the truck market is doing in LA, but if its doing ok, you may want to consider looking for your truck in texas or ga where they're downgrading vehicles like crazy to little fuel mizers. Trucks are cheap!

What you think as SS would go for there. I actually thought about getting a Lightning the other day b/c my dad told me about one in Melbourne. He said everyone is going with little gas savers there. $13,000 for an 03 Lightning with a clean title and 32,000miles but I want a GM product.
