Default UGH! need more help!

Ok so you remember my thread from before, well ive been to autozone, they said nothign was wrong, and i went to go to pep boys to have them check it but its 20$! and im not paying that ! so i was leaving the parkign lot at pep boys and what do you know, it starts doing it again, it revs to 1500 rpms and dies. But this time again i was revving it to 2000 for about 20 seconds, after that the rpm's stabled out at a little under 1000 (thats normal for my car) and i flipped it into reverse and as i left the parking lot the check engine light came on.. thats the first time that happneed and and i dont know what to do now... Ok so let me make that short for all who dont want to read it, Usually i start it up, it goes to about 2000 rpms and stablalizes itself under 1k and its fine, When this " PRoblem" Occurs it goes to 1500 rpms and dies to 0. You all said it might be Idle air control valve, Where is that located in car? i cannot find it. Also you said maybe fuel injectors, but im still waiting to get it tested, What exactly is that called by the waY? where i put the little computer on it to get the code? Thanks everyone, i really really appriciate all the help.

Autozone will only be able to pull a code when the light is on. So if you are out and about and he light kicks on go get it done then.
Once you get your code then you will be able to get a proper diagnosis on what the problem is. Also to get a free scan you can go to Advanced Auto Parts if you have one of those places close by.

I really wish I could tell you exactly where the Idle Air Control Valve is but I am 50 miles offshore working.

Ok i went out and bought a hayden (i think i spelt right) manuel, and it shows how to test for codes yourself. I got 4 codes... one was for cylender 1 mis fire, one was cylender 2 , one was 4 and the otehr was 5, But doesnt that mean it will never work if there mis firing? could i jsut have read the code wrong.. its possible because i did it twice and got diffrent numbers both times. Also another REally weird thing... I was fiddling around with spark plugs and stuff , and the spark plugs in the engine are all for the 1998 and 1999 four cylinder engine... hte Hayden book told me that... is this a major issue? should i replace now?

You might have incorrect gaping. Has it gotten a tune up lately?

It is quite possible. I would get a new set of plugs. I suggest NGK Iridiums.

could very easily be the problem. however it doesn't mean thats the problem. changing the plugs is cheap and should be done anyway. go to your local shop and ask them to check it out. they prob wont charge you and the you'll know the problem...its not a sin to go to a shop, we mechanics need to get paid.

P.S.- NGK Iridiums are the way to go, I'd use nothing else.

They are GREAT. They run for $25 a plug but boost gas mileage and performance. It was hard for me to believe until we put a set in a car.
