The power per liter is not that impressive compared to its competitors, what it was known for was its power across the rev band. It was more than just peak power.

That, and those are some big @ss pistons to be revving to 14k

Heres a few corrections / additions.

The motor was produced as a race motor and as a limited production (300) street motor.

The street motor was 750cc and produced 125hp at 14,000 rpm
Thats a bit under 170hp per liter

The race motor was 500cc and produced 130hp at over 20,000 rpm
Thats about 260hp per liter

The motor is in an unusual (for a "4" cylinder) V-"4" design. However, in many ways it is not a v4 but a v8 thanks to its oval cylinders.

yep, its a bike motor, race version was late 80's street version was early 90's

Im guessing the old hurricane early CBR, prob a specail engine only for the track version of the bike. Looked familiar, I owned a '90 CBR and I saw that engine on the CBR forum.
