Idle Problem - HondaClub.com

89 accord lxi F.I.
so beaters helped me and i replaced the ECU which solved my problem or a reseting idle. now when ever i start it, it idles to 3000 and after a minute or two it goes down to about a 1000

Try to clean out the throttle body.

oh dude wait my friend also has an 89 accord but his only go's to 2'000
but isn't that just the car getting warm
and once it's warm it go's to 1.000 right?
isn't that normal
for that type of car anyway

I think marcos is right. My '86 Integra would do the same thing. But try cleaning out the TB and also throw in some fuel injector cleaner just in case.

ill try cleaning the TB out and fuelinjection but before i started having this idle problem like 3 weeks ago when i started it would start at like 1800 RPM then go down to 1000 it has never gone to 3000RPM or 3200RPM before since we have had the car and we have had it since 89
