Default ECU Managment

So i have an idel problem in my 89 accord F.I. Manual:
its weird when i start it and run it for a a little bit the idle will be perfect but then after a while the idle goes haywire and it will be fine one minute the next is will die cus of idle at like 200 or lower rpm then it will be fine again so i checked the vacuum but if it was vacuum it would be constant so im guessing my ECU keeps reseting itself and is going because of the weird changes and ive checked the MAP sensor so im hoping its the ECU, what do you guys think?

I believe I gave you an answer for this problem in your last idle post. Read it again. And please do not post multiple threads on the same topic. If you need more help, PM somebody.

It could also be the crank angle sensor. Check that too.

It's exaclty what it sounds like. It measures how far the crankshaft has turned so the engine can deliver proper spark, open the valves, and deliver fuel. If it is intermittently going on and off, then the engine will run poorly. I've been working on a race car the last few months and when we trying out the engine, the sensor was getting a lot of interference and the engine wouldn't start. We solved that by sticking the sensor too far into the engine and breaking it. We now have a new system that prevents this from happening. Anyway, moving the wire that connects the sensor to the ECU around would solve our problem (it was getting interference from the spark coil).

Questions are okay. Don't be afraid to ask.

I know what those parts are, but I don't know how to fix them. Have you taken this car to a shop yet? They can tell you wht's wrong and fix it. Sometimes it is just easier to suck it up and let someone else figure it out. This might be one of those times.

See if his shop has any contacts with an import specialist. Maybe they can give you a free diagnostic. That will at least tell you what you're looking for.
