Default How to start?

hey i'm going to get my car in a couple of months, right now i'm collecting money for mods i'm new to upgrading so if anyone has any advice on how to start and what to do first i will appriciate any help

well always start with your bolt ons
exuast-headers-cold air intake-intake mainifold- strut bars
theres a few ways to start haha
but it all depends on how many mods you wonna put into your car

Look around this site. This question has been answered a few times already. There's a prettey decent article on how to get more power, and even though the number are for V8s, the parts still apply.

And FYI, I saw your post in "Turbo Build." It would be wise to keep quiet unless you know what you are talking about. I don't mean to be rude, but posting incorrect information is not helpful to anyone.

start with the ehaust system also with the headers and the filters!!!!! for me the best are DC sports in headers and K&N filters..... GOOD LUCK

Your best all around start would be a package deal...

Intake
Header
Exhaust

And they complement each other so the combined benefit is greater than each individual mod by itself!!!

You can add the manifold and throttle body to make it a full system upgrade...but I like to make those after playing with the first three for a minute...

does throttle body and manifold give a decent amount of hp? do u know wat size of throttle body would be rite for my civic?

The bigger the better. Skip the manifold, your cams and engine (and the auto) can't take advantage of it. Go for plugs and plug wires first. Well go for a stick first.

yeah it would be a good idea to replace the transmission form auto to stick if i just had the money but probably someday when ill finaly collect enough it will be the first thing to spent the money on. so for the ignition should i go with one step colder plugs or normal ones?
