Default Start up Problem

I have an 89 accord lxi
i have an oil leak in the distributor o-ring
and its goten into my distributor so i no im going to be replacing that
but sometimes not everyday but somtimes when i start up my car its a hard start like crank crank crank then it starts runs fine and clean after it starts
but two weeks ago my check engine light came on and i looked it up in the book and it said a fuel injection problem but it shut off and hasnt been on since.

could it just be the distributor that it has oil and whats causing the hard start or maybe is a fuel injection.

help would be appreciated thanks

sounds like what my hatch did when i first got it. i replaced the coil, button, cap, plugs, wires, and fuel filter, and it ran fine after that. as for the oil in the distributor i would spray it down with a fast disapating cleanser to get the oil out. if that doesn't help then look at the fuel injection. just remember just throwing things at it trying to fix it isn't the way to do it, it will just end up wasting your money. so start with the cheap and go to the more exspensive area clean the oil, and check the plugs and wires over.

I agree with midnights. He hit the nail on the head. Just make sure that's the only place with an oil leak.

Honestly, even if the distributor works I'd still replace the plugs and plug wires because it can make your car run better and also get ya a few more mpgs..
