No way. Honda shouldn't be turning into Ford. If I wanted a car that needs constant maintainence, I would be looking at Mustangs.

Yes I do, I've been to other sites also and there are a lot more ppl that complain about it. They need to have recall on the clutch, since that seems to be the main problem. Mine will go into 3rd gear and then kick back out unless I keep my hand there and work it into place.

My 3rd gear is tough as well, especially in the cold, it seems to be a syncro problem from what I've heard. Its a carry over from the issues with the transmission from the RSX-S so it's nothing new.
However mine is very temperamental, some days 3rd is tough, and some days it shifts like butter. Actually the entire car is kind of like that, I wasn't expecting a modern car to act so differently in different weather. Still a great car though, handling and the overall package is excellent.

Honda Coming Soon

Honestly, I love honda but if they don't attempt to recall it im not sure that I would ever buy a brand new Honda. because one thing is if you work in retail.. you learn that most buisnesses #1 goal besides making money is customer satisfaction. Its obviously Honda's fault if all these Si's are doing this so obviously they should fix the problem and fix it for free.

What Honda is doing is what Ford, Chevy, and Dodge did in the 70s and 80s. They would slap together a car and if it had problems, then they would fix it later. That's why they always had tons of recalls. and if you ever saw their factories, they would have lots of defective cars sitting around, and they would have to be fixed after they got off the assembly line. Hondas claim to fame was that they would fix assembly line defects right there. If any worker found something that didn't work, they would stop the line and fix the problem. If Honda is ignoring problems like this, then they are turning into Detroit. Let Toyota turn into a rich crap company. Not Honda.

Ya know I just started looking at this...
I find it hard to believe that HMC would allow such a thing but then I think...we are all human....mistakes are inevitable. But if this is HMC's only mistake in how many years??? Well I still have to give them props then! I really doubt this is going to turn into something like the K cars from mopar or the early 80's quality of Chevy's or even the worst insult...any kind of Ford. Honestly I think it is on the verge of blasfamy to group HMC and Ford together in any category! One thing to remember is that the Japanese have a very stong work ethic. If thier shift misses quota they stay...off the clock...till the quota is caught up. It is considered shameful to not pull your own weight. I see where it can be a huge annoyance but I do not see HMC corporate saying f-it...just ship it and we will fix it later...an american company yes...but not HMC. This is from some bad tests...not incompetance. Give it some more time and the engineers will remedy the situation and soon you will be getting things in the mail for repair/replace options. Just my $.02

The same thing has been happening with my tranny since I got it - I mean, different car (Accord), different engine (3.0L V6), but the same tranny. It'd be great if they did issue a recall of some sort. Definitely a big relief to know other people are having the same problems.

Honda will only turn into Ford if they end up saying the car is fine. At this point, at least they are acknowledging the problem. Still, shouldn't this have been something they caught earlier? It's just a bit troubling that Honda would have this kind of an issue to begin with.
