I have a 2000 Civic EX.
Engine Mods: AEM Intake, ECU chip, MSD external ignition coil, exhaust. I also have a set of headers and a new exhaust in the mail right now. Planning to add a 68mm throttle body. The question: I'm looking to improve my 0 to 60 time on my daily driven Civ and was wondering if anyone had any suggestions that I haven't thought of. Besides forced induction or nitrous that is. That will come in the future after forged internals |

things people overlook but actually help:
stand alone ems short throw shifter lightened flywheel urethane bushings underdrive pulley set anything that will help with traction and/or lighten the car or make it easier to get power to the wheels

Tires are always a good add on, especially if you have traction issues (like many FWD cars do)
Just don't go too sticky and break an axle

4-2-1 exhaust headers.
I've added AEM pulleys and a head swap to the to-do list. That should help. By the way I forgot to mention it's an automatic. I wanted an SI but I couldn't find one locally with acceptable mileage. So I went with the next best thing. |

You have put yourself into a hole right there. Sell the car and buy a stick. Drag racing an auto is acceptable, but Honda sticks are some of the best. Oh and manual is much less prone to catastrophic and expensive failure. FYI, depending on the kit and car, some turbo/supercharger kits won't work with autos. It has something to do with how they program the shift points. I don't know any of the specifics, but a stick will have no problems with that.

A Hondata chip will increase your power for your car. Simply because you give them the list of mods your car and the motor in your car and they can program the chip to get the max power out of the mods that you have done on the car to squeeze more hp out of the motor. Whats nice about Hondata compared to other ECU's is that Hondata has a reprogramabable chip that if you do decide to say get a turbo kit for your car you send the chip in and they will reprogram it for your turbo.
Edit: I would get a manual tranny if I were you that helps a lot on acceleration because you have more control over it to get into high rpms for the max speeds. Plus if you decide to switch the motor out different Honda motors are pretty much for different things. Example H22's are usually used in cars that want more top speed. But B series motors are typically used more on the track mostly because of them being lighter and you can get overall faster acceleration.

I would never sell it. I've put too much time into it already. Convert it to a stick, sure. But that will be down the road.
Hondata is def an option. How can you tell if it's reprogrammable? Will it specify or are all Hondata chips that way? |

That conversion is not fun. Doable but a real pain. Correct me if I'm worng on this, but most of the Hondata stuff is reflashes that just reprograms your stock ECU. They do it and it's set so you don't mess with it. If you want to reprogram, you need a new ECU that allows you to do so. Hondata sells those too, but this where the auto may bite back: In newer slushboxes, the ECU controls shifts and slip based on load, RPM, and speed. So you have to fight your way around that. Hondata can walk you through what you need to make it all work. I still say take your parts off this car and buy the same one in stick. Seriously, it will be a lot easier to make it all work. You might even make some money out of it if you play your cards right.
