Want to see which Cold Air Intake will give me the MOST Horse Power Gain?
Any help would be Appreciated. ALSO-have you herd of those "TORNADO" funnels which look like a non-moving turbine?do they actually work? ONE MORE THING-the EG6 is a 92 CX. STOCK! dont plan on doing much with it, it will be my Daily Driver. So the best MPG the better. Last edited by MidnightRun; 01-03-2008 at 03:14 AM. |

They are all about the same. I am a fan of AEM since they are 50-state smog legal and have special intakes for Hondas. Mugen will probably have the best since they spend lots of time bench and dyno testing their parts. But Mugen is waaaaaaaaaaay expensive. My advice would be to just get a good cone filter and skip the piping crap. Saves at least $100 and the piping is only important if you are going turbo and have to worry about the plastic piping collapsing. Also, if you have an S2K, leave the whole thing alone (or buy Mugen) because the airbox is designed to work specifiaclly for that engine and the ECU is tuned specifically for that intake. Anything else will lose power, except Mugen which will probably flow better for the same reasons I already mentioned.

i wouldnt go aem.. your paying for the name.. i also wouldnt go ebay either.. aem and injen are show to put out very close amounts in hp so i would go with injen because injen tends to cost less than aem does..and if u plan on doin other mods to your car it can also affect how much hp everything puts out..so it really isnt a set amount..i kno when i had my accord and put the ebay intake on it it even showed a noticable amount of hp increase. its not huge it just makes a better throttle response..but if u honestly want the best intake u can get for your car go wit the jdm carbon kevlar intake..

For Cali I'd stick with AEM. Much easier to pass smog inspection. It's a little more, but worth the hassle.
Heard of the tornado thing. Never heard about anybody doing any testing with it though. I doubt it will do anything, since it's creating a flow restriction in the intake. The engine has to do work to spin that turbine and it isn't compressing any air, just spinning it. Get some good iridium spark plugs instead and add some power and mpg.
