Well question. I have never changed oil in a vehicle before. And I want to know if I am a beast and guessed the O-ring part out.. So are there O-Rings on drain plugs? To me it would make sense if they were because O-rings purposes are to help make things more sealed up an secure so nothing leaks out.

Most Honda's use a crush washer...

It is basically a washer with a rubber or silicone center slightly thicker than the washer...when compressed it seals the tiny gap at the drain plug to prevent any leaks...yes it is a good idea to change this with atleast every third oil change...

nice one... lmao!! it's sad to say that Ford can't even get an o-ring correctly. I had a Mazda 6 a couple of years ago, bought it brand new off the lot, loved the smooth ride, but only bought it cuz my brother knew the dealership owner and he cut me a deal. BUT, i was very disappointed on how it had an oil leak at 10K. Glad to say it was totaled by a "friend", so I went with something I knew my princess and I would enjoy... a CRV !

Also if you get a chilton or haynes manual for it...it will show you how to do anything to the car in step by step pictures and instructions...sometimes they are a real life saver when it comes to hidden locations of fasteners, etc!!!
