Default Speaking of batteries:

For those who care, Optima has quit making the 51 series battery. The 51 is the one that fits in the factory location on the Honda. I had mine re-located to the rear hatch area when it decided to short out and start boiling. Needless to say, I was buzzing pretty good from the acid fumes. All that Optima said was, "yeah, we've had some problems with them because of the size, so we aren't making them any more." Um, ok, what about my last two brain cells you took from me!!!!!

Not sure on the Acura portion. I know for a fact that the EF Honda's (88-91) for sure, won't take the bigger Optima batteries. As far as I know, a lot of others won't either. Perhaps some members can confirm that for me.

So what did they say about the fact that your out of your battery that you paid a pretty penny for...optimas are not cheap!

And if they have know about the problem...why didnt they recall them?
