Unfortunately my first fear is that with the pop sound and the stall...it sounds like the timing belt
Easiest way to check is to pull a fell bolts out where you can GENTLY bend the cover enough where you can peak in with a flashlight...no belt...then thats it. If the belt is there...it doesnt eliminate it....it could be stuck on the top gears...however I would refrain from trying to crank it until you 100% eliminate that...because you dont want to put a valve in a piston or something ![]()

Its not the timing belt. There's no spark. I ran a google search and came up with 7 different complaints regarding 93 Accords and a part called the igniter. I asked the garage to start there on Friday. They just ordered the part last night. How much is there to test in the ignition system??? I am terribly afraid of what this bill is going to look like.

igniter...never heard of...but I have heard of an ignition module, ignition sensor, ignition reluctor and ignition relay...
testing the ignition system is very simple however a shop will likely charge $100 to $150 to do it...takes about 3 minutes per cylinder...you can do it yourself with a screwdriver with an insulated handle and a friends help

I'd deffinitley check the distributor, but thats just me... thats the 1st thing I would do... After that I'd start to do the "A-B" tests every where with a multimeter... just checking for the right out put on all of it.
I would never take my car into a garage that is not my own. Unless It's to register it or what not... |
