A friend told me that I should get my tune-up from any Honda dealer, because they know more about them, and they use original parts. The knowledge part, I believed him, but not so much about the original parts.
I also asked my uncle who knows some mechanics and he told me that I should buy the parts by myself and go with a mechanic. That would be the cheapest and best way. But then, there's the warranty factor. Then we have the automotive stores, like Pepboys and all that. What would be my best bet? Btw, I have a Civic 99, with 92k miles and from the looks of it, the dealer sold me the car without any tune-ups made as the maintenance symbol is in red. The other day, I tried putting some windshield fluid and it was also out of it. Do I require the basic or full tune-up? Also are they really real tune-ups or more like fakes? Sorry for my many questions. |

Best bet would be to buy a manual like a haynes and just do it yourself. I am sure you warranty is up or about to be...and any preventative maintenance will not void it...regardless of who does it
