Symptom - My wheel pulls to the left when I push on the gas, and the wheel pulls to the right when I put on the brakes....
....could it be alignment? Also, my CV Boots are ripped wide open. I don't have any of the tools to fix it, and the way I see it, I have three options:
You really never know when buying a used car exactly how much the previous owner isn't telling you about it. I think I've pretty much sorted out the major problems with it, and these are two of the last ones so far. Thanks for your help, it comes in handy!

If the cost is that close you should just change the whole thing, either now, or later, if you think you won't need to replace it again during the time you own the car you might as well just replace it now.
^^^ general advice, I have no idea what a CV boot / joint is ![]()

Its quite simple. Just replace both axles ( trust me, it works out best. Sooner or later the other one is going to go and you end up right where you started) and then check if it pulls or not. If needed get an alignment and if you still get the problem while braking, then its probably a problem in the brake lines in the right side.
I'd suggest you go in that order so you can trouble shoot as you go. |

Sounds like a warped brake rotor if you ask me.
TJ, CV stands for constant velocity joint. It takes all the impact of the cars movement first. I agree that you replace the whole axels and do it in a timely fashion. You don't want to be stranded with a messed up axel and then have to pay a towing feel. If you aren't machanically enclined replacing an axel is not for you. Also, on any at home project I suggest you go and pick up a Haynes Manual for your car from most auto parts stores for around 15 dollars.

I agree with all yall replies but on a crx I would replace all of rhe front brake componants including calipers both rotors and upgraded pads and brake lines.
Definitly change both front axles(c.v joints) the cost for both axles installed should be around $500 its cool. just don't ride around on those brakes |
